Accompany HWI staff and volunteers on a trip to the Farmington Bay Waterfowl Managemant Area to view Bald Eagles in numbers that may well leave you in a state of awe. Not only will eagles abound, you will also get a chance to appreciate Farmington Bay cast in a winter beauty that less daring souls may never experience. Be sure to pack some snacks, water, binoculars, and your camera. Dress warm for the weather and be ready for some amazing Bald Eagle watching!

$10 fee for HWI members and $15 for non-members, which includes carpooling and hot chocolate. We will have binoculars and a spotting scope for the group to use. Participants will meet at the Davis County Fairground parking lot at 10:00 a.m. Space is very limited!

Enjoy a raptor watching auto tour through this amazing refuge. Raptors are the focus of this outing but we will stop to view other wildlife. Make sure to bring binoculars, a sack lunch and water.

Join the raptor ID expertise of HWI staff and volunteers as they take you on an exclusive trip to Skull Valley to view wintering raptors and share raptor facts. We will keep our eyes out for diurnal (daytime) raptors, including Rough-legged, Ferruginous, and Red-tailed Hawks, American Kestrel and Merlin Falcons, Harriers, Bald Eagles, and perhaps the Short-eared Owl. Join HawkWatch International's Conservation Science Director, Steve Slater for an exclusive twilight field trip up Big Cottonwood Canyon to prowl for owls! You will be snowshoeing in about a mile (mild to moderately strenuous terrain) in the Donut Falls trail and stopping to broadcast and listen for owls. Hot drinks will be provided. Be sure to dress warm, bring your snowshoes (must), and plenty of questions. If you need showshoes, contact us or you can rent them at REI.
