Zoos are often thought of as a place to learn about animals and get a neat souvenir, but they are much more.  Hogle Zoo’s Conservation Coordinator Liz Larsen will discuss the role of zoos as conservation organizations.  Through breeding programs, partnerships with wildlife agencies and other conservation organizations, support of field work, and green business practices, zoos are playing an important role in relaying the message of conservation to millions of people each year.
