Directions to the Site
The FKRMP is operated at Curry Hammock State Park from September 15th to November 13th each year. Visitors to the site have an excellent opportunity to interact with our biologists, participate in onsite activities and see remarkable raptors in flight. Visitors often also get the chance to see banded raptors up-close before they are released! Some visitors have commented that a visit to the research site was a highlight of their trip to the Keys!
The count and banding sites are located in Curry Hammock State Park, The park is about half way between Key Largo and Key West, just north of the town of Marathon. It's about a two and a half hour drive from Miami.

Depending on
the size of the flight and the day of the week, this area may be
filled. Be prepared to sit in the area below the building in order
to give our hawkwatchers enough space to work. It is always a good
idea to bring your own chair, binoculars, scope, field guides etc.
