When you financially contribute to HawkWatch International, you may designate your gift to the following areas:

GENERAL SUPPORT: General support donations provide maximum flexibility by allowing us to allocate money where it is most needed.

CONSERVATION SCIENCE: Our research focuses on long-term studies designed to monitor the status and trends of raptor populations, identify threats to raptors and their habitats, and help develop raptor-friendly strategies for managing ecosystems. Donations help support our standardized raptor-migration count and banding networks, nesting surveys, and satellite telemetry and stable-isotope analysis programs, as well as helping support proactive programs aimed at reducing critical threats to raptors.

CONSERVATION EDUCATION: HawkWatch International requires a nominal program fee from schools to help cover costs related to our environmental education program. These expenses include bird care and housing, transportation, printed material, classroom props, and educator stipends. Many schools are unable to afford even the smallest of program fees that would enable their students to experience a live hawk presentation. Feedback from teachers and students convinces us that meeting a live bird of prey leaves a lasting impression on children. Please consider sponsoring HWI's environmental education program to make this unique experience available to all children.

HWI was very fortunate to secure a $1 million endowment in 2002 to provide stable funding for our long-term migration research. In support of this gift and the donor's wishes, we are seeking complementary donations to demonstrate our commitment to further enhancing this fund.

MATCHING GIFTS & WORKPLACE GIVING
Through Conservation and Preservation Charities of America, you can give to HawkWatch through payroll deduction at many workplaces. If your government agency or company participates in either the Combined Federal Campaign or Independent Charities of America campaigns, look for HawkWatch International in the list of cooperating nonprofits.  Many companies will match charitable donations made by their employees. To find out if your company provides matching gifts, please ask your personnel office. If so, you should pick up your company's matching gift application, fill it out, and send it in with your gift.
