Wondering how to get your students, grades 7 and up, excited about science? HawkWatch can help. We have several classroom programs available, based on your core curriculum standards. We also have lesson plans available through our TALONS website for teachers.
What Raptors Teach Us (Appropriate for Middle School and High School Audiences) What good is counting hawks? This program shows how raptors can serve as indicators of ecosystem health. Careers in raptor science are also discussed.
Prices: $75 for the first program and $35 for each additional program, plus mileage at 30 cents per mile for programs outside Salt Lake County city limits.

Single grade assemblies are possible, but we prefer to provide programs to groups of 35 students or less. This allows us to maintain a continuous dialog with the students throughout the presentation.

. The optimal group size is 35 people or less, because this provides a more intimate setting with the non-releasable raptor. However, it is possible to accommodate larger groups if necessary. Prices are $75 for the first program and $35 for each additional program, plus mileage for programs outside of Salt Lake County.
Effective July 1, 2008, HWI will no longer offer programs to pre-school and kindergarten groups.
