Satellite Tracking Program
HWI began our Raptor Satellite Tracking Program to help determine how and where to most effectively tailor our raptor conservation efforts. Since the program's inception in 1999, we have worked to address a variety of questions toward this end, including:
Detailed tracking maps for many of the birds outfitted to date can be accessed by following the links at the bottom of this page. Due to (rapidly improving) technological limitations, the program has heretofore focused on three of the larger raptor species, including: Golden Eagles, Red-tailed Hawks, and Northern Goshawks.
